Living a Gluten-Free Life?
Learn Tips & Tricks from
Stop & Shop Nutritionist Julie Menounos
at a Free Event Hosted by Stop & Shop at Chelmsford, Mass., Store
Discuss critical nutrition issues with the gluten-free diet and how to overcome them
Living
on a gluten-free diet can be challenging but necessary if you’re
seeking to control symptoms and prevent further complications of a
diagnosed condition like Celiac disease.
Gluten
is everywhere in the American diet - found in bread, cereal, tortillas,
pasta, muffins, dressings and sauces, and more. Essentially, whole
grains need to be avoided if you are cutting gluten out of your diet.
But, because whole grains also are a significant source of fiber,
vitamins and minerals, people on restrictive gluten-free diets need to
ensure they don’t become deficient in other areas.
Join Stop & Shop’s Nutritionist, Julie Menounos, MS, RD, LDN, for
a public and free event offering advice, solutions and tips for
gluten-free customers to maintain a balance of good nutrition while on a
gluten-free diet. In addition, samples from various companies including
Enjoy Life, Glutenfreeda, Lundberg, Mary’s Gone Crackers, Pamela’s,
Quinoa, Raw Revolution, Sun Cups, Thinkthin, Bob’s red mill, Happy Baby,
Udi's, Glutino, Stop & Shop Greek Yogurt, Boar's Head, Cabot Cheese
and Hint will be provided for customers to try various gluten-free
products.
Awareness
of Celiac disease is growing, and with that, so is the gluten-free
marketplace. There are many options available to those who are seeking
creative ways to replace gluten products in their meals.
Media
and the public are invited to attend this open event in support of Stop
& Shop’s gluten-free customers and their families.
