PETER SOLOMON OF STATE STREET BARBERS IN THE SOUTH END GOES LOCAL AND UNVEILS TWEED BARBERS

AT TWEED BARBERS WE BELIEVE THAT, AT ITS BEST,
A BARBERSHOP IS A DEPENDABLE, TRUSTED NEIGHBORHOOD INSTITUTION”

State Street Barbers owner Peter Solomon has decided to go independent and proudly unveils Tweed Barbers --same location, same space, same prices, same barbers--only the name has changed.  Loyal customers need not be concerned, the only thing new is the name and the shop is now owned and operated locally.
"There's nothing different when it comes to the high quality and atmosphere regulars--and newcomers--have come to expect from the State Street Barbers team," says  Solomon. "Business is amazing, I simply wanted to break-away from the Chicago-based operations and go it solo."

Tweed Barbers will continue to employ the same barbers clients have grown to know and trust for their grooming needs.  The unparalleled team of expert barbers has the pride of their personal touch embedded in each haircut and hot lather shave.  Possessing no fewer than ten years of experience, each barber has seen it all and can do it all.  The team places an emphasis on excellence and skill, not gimmicks and trends. They keep the ambiance fun and welcoming, but take their work seriously.

All services perfected at State Street Barbers will be transferred, unaltered, to Tweed Barbers. Whether you want a classic haircut, hot lather shave (ask Tom Hanks) or even a facial, the staff will have you looking your best when you walk out the door. Tweed Barbers is located 1313 Washington Street in the South End.
Since opening in 2006, Solomon and his razor sharp team have earned praise from patrons to press alike, including "Top 16 Barbershops in America," Details magazine, "Best Men's Haircut," Boston magazine, "Best Barbershop," Improper Bostonian,  "Best Men's Hairstylist," Weekly Dig, and "Top 10 Barbershops," AskMen.com.

Tweed Barbers prides itself on accommodating the busy schedule of its patrons, staying open seven days a week. Their hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tweed Barbers offers haircuts, hot lather shaves, trims, beard trims, hair coloring, facials and more. For additional information, full list of services, photos, to speak with owner Peter Solomon, please contact Chris Haynes at CBH Communications at 617-267-00700 or at chaynes@cbhcommunications.com.

Gluten Free Event at Stop & Shop in Chelmsford, MA Saturday April 13, 2013

Living a Gluten-Free Life?
Learn Tips & Tricks from
Stop & Shop Nutritionist Julie Menounos
at a Free Event Hosted by Stop & Shop at Chelmsford, Mass., Store
Discuss critical nutrition issues with the gluten-free diet and how to overcome them

Living on a gluten-free diet can be challenging but necessary if you’re seeking to control symptoms and prevent further complications of a diagnosed condition like Celiac disease.
Gluten is everywhere in the American diet - found in bread, cereal, tortillas, pasta, muffins, dressings and sauces, and more. Essentially, whole grains need to be avoided if you are cutting gluten out of your diet. But, because whole grains also are a significant source of fiber, vitamins and minerals, people on restrictive gluten-free diets need to ensure they don’t become deficient in other areas.
Join Stop & Shop’s Nutritionist, Julie Menounos, MS, RD, LDN, for a public and free event offering advice, solutions and tips for gluten-free customers to maintain a balance of good nutrition while on a gluten-free diet. In addition, samples from various companies including Enjoy Life, Glutenfreeda, Lundberg, Mary’s Gone Crackers, Pamela’s, Quinoa, Raw Revolution, Sun Cups, Thinkthin, Bob’s red mill, Happy Baby, Udi's, Glutino, Stop & Shop Greek Yogurt, Boar's Head, Cabot Cheese and Hint will be provided for customers to try various gluten-free products.
Awareness of Celiac disease is growing, and with that, so is the gluten-free marketplace. There are many options available to those who are seeking creative ways to replace gluten products in their meals.
Media and the public are invited to attend this open event in support of Stop & Shop’s gluten-free customers and their families.
